Women's Spring Retreat at Lake Retreat

April 9th, 10th, and 11th

All women of the church are welcome, along with friends and daughters (who are out of high school)  The UMW has again rented Lundgren Lodge, overlooking the lake.  The whole weekend - Friday the 9th thru Sunday the 11th will cost $90.  Saturday only will cost $45.  We are so pleased that Janet Franklin and Ileeda Denman have agreed to head the retreat. Evelyn Schooley, Janet or Ileeda can answer requests for scholarships at half the cost.

We will eat in the dining hall on Saturday and in between we'll snack on the delicious treats we all bring to the retreat.  Sunday we will have breakfast at Lindgren.  Come and be part of our wonderful group.  Our speaker will be Brenda Cathcart,"What, When & Why of Pentecost."

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN is an organization of approximately one million members whose purpose is to foster spiritual growth, develop leaders and advocate for justice.  Members raise nearly $25 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.

The 32nd Holiday Fair was a great success.  Janet Gilles did a wonderful job being in charge of everything.  And, thanks to Scout Troup 330 who helped with set up and clean up.  With most of the calculating done, the profit is now $4,027.

Sue Gantt's gorgeous Father Christmas quilt provided $250 for the food bank.  Thanks so much to all who helped.  What a wonderful atmosphere of enthusiasm, happiness, old friends and neighbors, showing each other our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and the enjoyment of buying lovely gifts and great food.
