Local ministries include:
 
  • Operation Nightwatch, serving dinner to homeless in downtown Seattle once a month.
  • Food Bank, assisting in packaging food and giving money for food purchases at the South King County Multi-Service Center.
  • Kairos Prison Ministry, bringing ministry and cookies to inmates at McNeil Island and the Women's Correctional Center at Purdy.
  • Caregivers, providing hot meals to homebound church members.
  • Sunshine Fund, providing assistance with P.S.E. or Lakehaven Water bills to those in our community who are in danger of having their power or water shut off.  If you would like to donate to this program, send your check payable to FWUMC at 29645 51st Ave. S. Auburn, WA 98001, marked Sunshine Fund.


Other missions:

  • Youth Mission Team, went to Montana in July to work on the Cheyenne Reservation.
  • Mission Team to UMCOR's Sager Brown Depot, went to New Orleans in April 2008 to help at the warehouse for the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
  • Hope for the Children of Africa, a United Methodist program that provides help for orphans in Africa. Our church participates by sending volunteers, funds, and supplies.
