Planting the Seeds for Growth through
Small Group Studies
What is a "Small Group?"
A small group is 3-15 people gathering on a regular basis for study, worship, fellowship, prayer, and accountability. It may be centered on an activity, a common interest or need, or a study. It can be short or long-term, should have a covenant and a trained facilitator. (Training can be arranged for anyone wanting it).
It is encouraged that each Small Group choose a "service project" to work on together as well. One group had a bake sale and gave the proceeds to a Women's Shelter... another picked up trash along 51st Avenue South... another worked a night together at "Operation Nightwatch."
We all need to feel a sense of meaning and belonging, and Small Groups provide a safe environment for people to connect with others and grow into the bigger community of the Church. There is a sense of trust and intimacy that fosters real bonding and lasting friendships.
Community Bible Study
This study looks at the Bible text for the coming Sunday. Participants read through the passage three times with a focus question in mind, and if comfortable doing so, share their responses with the group. There is no homework. Groups meet in the facilitator's homes or at church various times throughout the week.

The Nooners Bible Study started a new 6 week study on, "The Parables of Jesus" on Jan. 24. Jesus communicated deep spiritual truths through simple, vivid, and
engaging stories. Woven from the stuff of every day life the parables of

Jesus and their meanings.
