Reach Out - Helping the Homeless in Federal Way
We will be providing meal support March 5th - 18th for the Reach Out
ministry that provides shelter and food to 25 homeless men in Federal
Way. We'll need teams of 4 or 5 people to cover each of the 14 nights by
bringing and serving a pre-cooked dinner at Steel Lake Presbyterian
Church. While there, volunteers will prepare sack lunches for the men to
have the following day. Youth are welcome, but no children under 14,
please. You will need to be at Steel Lake Church around 8:30 p.m. and
will be finished by 9:45 p.m.. If you're not able to go to serve the
food, you could provide food for others to take. Food items for cold
breakfast and the sack lunches are also needed, although we have some
money left over from last year's donations to Reach Out that we will be
using too.
Sign-ups
will be available before and after church for the next three Sundays.
This is a great small-group local ministry opportunity! Those who've
participated in previous years have found it to be a very rewarding
experience and much appreciated by the men who are served.
